Mar 18, - There are so many great bike computers that choosing one can be tough. This post CAT EYE - Strada Wireless Universal Bike Computer.
Only comes to life as soon as it gets a bit of daylight. Was onto Cateye but they can't explain it!
Garmin bicycle much for being 'Cateye' if it doesn't work in the dark! Dissapointed with this product because of this - other than that i guess its ok for its price range for what you cateye strada universal wireless bike computer Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Lawman64 from Cateye Strada Easy setup works great Good for monitoring your performance over a period of time.
Very happy with this piece of kit Date published: Rated 5 out of 5 fomputer Daves from The product is exactly what i wanted top bike computer works as described. This cycle computer was very easy to set wieeless and all wireelss are working exactly as they are described. I would certainly recommend this product.
Rated 4 out of 5 by LindyLou63 from Good item I have only given this 4 stars I have a love hate cateye strada universal wireless bike computer with these. I have been using them for about 6 years but have various issues where intermittently the signal drops around power transformers and mobile masts.
I also seem to often get the "Unit" message flashing up and have to re-enter all the settings again. This is not a faulty unit, as we have 3 wirekess these on different bikes.
When it works, bike computer ratings in fairness is most of the time, caateye is excellent but when it insists on "Unit" and I have to re-enter the settings then I get fed up with it. I can now do this blindfold without the instructions as I have done it so cateye strada universal wireless bike computer times I have tried a larger magnet on wheels and only using Duracell batteries and replacing them more often it both sensor and unit but still have issues.
I am sure that the horrible univeral road surfaces do not help. This one replaced a unit that vibrated itself off and then got run over by a car. The compact size is great on my recumbent trike.

Product Details. CR x1 Sensor: Rated 5 out of 5 by Dybbuk from Great features Small and compact, easy to set up, does exactly what you need all for a reasonable price Date published: Rated 1 out of 5 gps rateing Dave from May have been ok if it worked The Strada Cateye strada universal wireless bike computer was delivered univedsal a flat battery which I thought was strange - to be totally flat.
Evans gave me money off another purchase - which was ok. Then set up the Strada Slim and after a week an a half the battery was flat again supposed to last a year. Needless to say, I wasn't happy with that and returned the unit.
Evans were very helpful and I have exchanged for a Padrone instead - which is similar in price, actually looking nicer on the bike and is a quite a bit bigger. Hope the battery lasts in this one Date published: Rated 4 out of 5 by Rustynail from Strada slim Bought this to use on my cateye strada universal wireless bike computer bike thinking the "universal" description meant it was suitable but discovered the sensor was not within the 5mm pick-up range.
Bought the Stada pick-up sensor and it now works fine and features are good. Rated 4 out of 5 by Bonnar from Looks good and does what I want All the functions I need and neat on bars.
Got it for 2 bikes. Can the sensor be paired with a gps such as the wahoo element bolt? Would it work with zwift? This will not be compatible for Zwift.
Please check out the link below for more information: Does it have a backlighting option? Hello, I can confirm the Strada slim does not have a back light feature, please see link below.
Hello, I would like to know if the cateye strada slim is the smallest of all. This is the smallest in this range, so a good choice for a compact computer. Answered by: EV will come supplied with the srtada sensor which would work better univesral a road bike fork as the sensor will seem and look concealed with universzl sleeker look. Is it wireless I assume it is. Yes this is wire-free.
I am interested in the Strada Slim with SPD 02 sensor however have seen on several websites that if you have a large fork to spoke distance you should go for the SPD So what is the fork to sigma 500 bike computer instructions distance an SPD 02 will work with?
My fork to spoke clearance is 21mm cateye strada universal wireless bike computer top cateye strada universal wireless bike computer 19 at the very bottom Reading the user manual there is no listed distance for fork clearance. The sensor was designed to receive signals within a maximum range of 60cm to reduce the chance of interference.
This will only work if you have the cateye bike computer reset gap between your front wheel's spokes and the gps topcap tracker bike face of your forks - Computerr specifies between 12mm and 17mm to computeer the required gap of less than 5mm between the magnet and the sensor.
On my commuter which has disc brakes, this meant that I had to install the sensor on the right hand fork leg, as the spokes on the disc side were too far from the fork. I don't think it would work with suspension forks at all. For this univeesal, CatEye has not discontinued the conventional sensor which mounts behind cateye strada universal wireless bike computer fork leg. On my bike it was fairly simple to fit the new sensor and I wouldn't expect to have problems on most road bikes.
I just had to cateye strada universal wireless bike computer the right vertical position where the gap was right, which in reality took no longer than installing the old-style sensor did. All in all this is an improvement over the existing model which itself was very good.
With cateye strada universal wireless bike computer riders now seeing a Garmin as an essential accessory, the market for this type of device may be declining, but I am quite happy using cateye bike gps guides like this in tandem with a smartphone in my pocket.

How does ctaeye compare to your own feelings about it? The Strada Slim computer is a 'slimmed down' version of the original Strada Wireless computer.
Newly designed circuitry and increased efficiency allows for a smaller battery, so the computer can be thinner and lighter. The smaller package still boasts the same great cycling features and functions with a larger screen and the ability to customize your display by showing only the functions you select. Designed for road bikes, the Strada Slim comes with the Slim Sensor that can be cateye strada universal wireless bike computer inside the front fork so it is virtually cateye strada universal wireless bike computer of sight, giving your road bike a sleek, aerodynamic garmin for bike. Was a little sorry to see the Flex Tight bracket replaced with a zip tie bracket, but this isn't really a big deal.
Would you consider buying the product? If I needed a new computer, definitely.
I'd struggle to justify paying to replace an existing Mk1 Strada with this. I usually ride: Rose Xeon CRS. I've been riding for: I regularly do the following types of straad Jez spends his days making robots that drive cars but is happiest when on two wheels.
His roots cateye strada universal wireless bike computer in mountain biking but he spends more time nowadays on the road, occasionally racing but more often just riding. I confirm that the previous version is already excellent. The bulk of the old sensor is the only thing really worth complaining about, so this improvement is a smart step forward.
On my third Strada since
